About The Position

Under general supervision of a licensed provider, the Fluoro tech is responsible for operating the C-Arm machine to provide real-time x-ray imagining for surgeons. These images are utilized by surgeons to guide their movements during minimally invasive surgical procedures and are critical to overall surgical success and patient health. We are seeking motivated individuals who show excellent communication skills. Must be able to problem-solve and multitask as we are a fast-paced practice. Gain skill and knowledge of organization policies and procedures in support of the department. This job is a part-time position at Summit Spine & Joint Centers that reports to the Operations Manager. This position’s primary locations will be for region (17) clinic locations (see below) and subject to change based on coverage/business needs and ASC operating hours.

Requirements

  • Must be willing to travel to other locations
  • Detail-oriented
  • Able to effectively use the C-Arm Machine
  • Maintain a Sterile Environment during procedures
  • Wear a Lead Vest and/or any other PPE
  • Certificate from the SCRQSA to legally perform fluoroscopy in South Carolina - required
  • 1-year clinical experience preferred

Nice To Haves

  • Experience using E Clinical Works or other EMR (Electronic Medical Record) systems preferred
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience

Responsibilities

  • Triage patients to be seen by providers which include, but are not limited to rooming patients, taking vitals, merging patient charts and communicating directly with patients
  • Assist providers in exam rooms as directed
  • Effectively process messages between patients and administration or other medical offices
  • Report to office manager and/or practice administrator
  • To ensure radiation safety, a Fluoro Tech must be able to effectively use the C-Arm Machine and wear a lead vest for most of their shift, a physically demanding process
  • Manipulate a C-Arm as directed by the surgeon to provide the necessary x-ray perspectives for a successful surgery
