About The Position

The position involves performing electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic maintenance and repair work on all equipment associated with an underground coal mine. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safe operation of mining equipment through scheduled, unscheduled, and preventative maintenance. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, as the candidate will actively participate in the company's Behavior Based Safety Process. The technician will utilize various hand tools, precision measuring instruments, and diagnostic equipment such as voltmeters and ammeters to conduct repairs, replace parts, and maintain equipment functionality. In addition to maintenance tasks, the technician will be responsible for documenting all work performed, ensuring that all permissibility and paperwork requirements are completed accurately. The role may also involve welding and torch cutting as needed, as well as reading and interpreting prints, wiring diagrams, maintenance manuals, and parts books to effectively prepare for and complete tasks. The technician may be required to operate mining equipment to diagnose issues, position equipment for safe repairs, and test operations post-repair. Furthermore, servicing and troubleshooting conveyor belt drives may also be part of the responsibilities. Compliance with all Federal, State, and Company laws, guidelines, directives, and plans is essential, along with the ability to perform other duties as assigned.
