About The Position

Texas Oncology is looking for a MDCB Certified Medical Dosimetrist to join our team! This position is based out of the San Antonio Region locations (supporting two clinics) of Texas Oncology, the position is hybrid. Texas Oncology is the largest community oncology provider in the country and has approximately 600+ providers in 220+ sites across Texas and southeastern Oklahoma. Requirements

  • Credentials as a Certified Medical Dosimetrist (CMD) preferred.
  • Medical Dosimetrist Certification Board eligible.
  • Two years of experience with Eclipse TPS preferred.
  • Two years of experience preferred although new graduates will be considered.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in planning VMAT, IMRT, SBRT, and 3D plans.
  • Prior work in a Varian linear accelerator environment a plus.

Responsibilities

  • In collaboration with the radiation oncologist and medical physicist, use critical thinking and problem-solving skills to develop, generate, and evaluate treatment plans using computer software and manual calculations based on prescribed target region and avoidance dose criteria.
  • Generate radiation therapy treatment plans in a timely manner using computer software and various imaging modalities, demonstrating strong attention to detail.
  • Adapt to ever-changing technology and be open to learning new systems and techniques.
  • Perform routine duties independent of supervision but consult with the Radiation Oncologist and Medical Physicist as required.
  • Consult and communicate with the therapists regarding the implementation of the treatment plan including: the correct use of immobilization devices, field arrangement, and other treatment variables.
  • Perform or supervise the design and fabrication of immobilization devices, beam modifying devices (i.e., compensating filters, bolus, molds, custom shields, etc.) and treatment planning aids.
