We are seeking an experienced Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) to lead dietary operations and ensure residents receive nutritious, high-quality meals in compliance with all state and federal regulations. Position Summary The Certified Dietary Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the dietary department, including food service operations, staff supervision, sanitation, and regulatory compliance. This role plays a key part in resident satisfaction, survey readiness, and overall quality of care .

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (required)
  • Successful completion of a Dietary Manager Program and passing of the Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) exam (required)
  • Minimum of 2 years of food service experience , preferably in a supervisory or management role (required)
  • Knowledge of modified diets, food safety regulations, and sanitation procedures
  • Ability to read, write, and follow oral and written instructions
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills
  • Ability to work cooperatively with interdisciplinary teams
  • Professional appearance and demeanor
  • Ability to lift 20–25 lbs frequently and 50–60 lbs occasionally
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (7–8 hours per day)
  • Willingness to maintain or obtain Food Handler / Sanitation Certification as required by state regulations
  • Flexible schedule to support departmental needs and special events
  • Must meet all pre-employment requirements (background check, drug screening, health clearances)
  • Commitment to HIPAA compliance and confidentiality

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily dietary operations, including meal preparation, service, and sanitation
  • Ensure compliance with state, federal, and local regulations , including CMS and health department standards
  • Manage modified and therapeutic diets per the physician's orders
  • Supervise, schedule, and support dietary staff
  • Maintain inventory of food, supplies, and equipment
  • Ensure proper use, care, and cleaning of dietary equipment
  • Implement and monitor food safety and sanitation practices
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and survey readiness efforts
  • Maintain professional, respectful interactions with residents, families, staff, and visitors
  • Provide coverage and support for dietary services during staffing shortages or special events
