We are recruiting for a per-diem Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist to join our skilled team of pediatric professionals in Marlton, NJ. This position is not benefits eligible. Requirements
- A health professional who meets specific discipline requirements as defined by the Certification Board for Diabetes Care and Education (CBDCE).
- Possession of current registration/license to practice in their specific health profession, including active New Jersey license when applicable.
- Possession of a current certification as a Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES) from the CBDCE.
- CPR certification
- Computer proficiency with WORD, Power Point, Excel strongly preferred
- Ability to instruct individuals and groups in formal and informal settings.
- Ability to work with people from different socio-cultural backgrounds and/or standards of living in an effective manner
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
- Ability to incorporate new ideas or concepts into clinical practice.
- Ability to work with community agencies as appropriate.
Nice To Haves
- Minimum of two years experience in Diabetes education and community healthcare preferred.
Responsibilities
- Performs the duties and responsibilities of a Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES) to assist the Weisman Children's Rehabilitation Hospital Team in the development, operation, and evaluation of the Diabetes Management Program.
- Responsible for team based and patient diabetes education.
