As a Certified CS/SPD Technician, you will play a key role in how our operating rooms care for our patients as a whole team relies on you to successfully set up the operating room. Certified CS/SPD Technicians receive ample support, training and education, including learning how to operate the latest, state-of-the-art processing equipment and using the newest sterilization tools and concepts. A caregiver in this position works rotating evenings/nights from 3:00PM - 11:30PM or 11:00PM - 7:30AM, with rotating weekend and holiday requirements.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Successful completion of a recognized training program with certification in central service/sterile processing
• Sterile Processing Distribution Certification (CRCST, CSPDT, CFER, or CER)
• Two-five years of experience in central service/sterile processing areas
• Military experience, such as Hospital Corpsmen (HM), Machinery Repairman (MR), Aircraft Maintenance Technician (2A3X3), Biomedical Equipment Specialist (68A), Small Arms Repairer (91F), or similar, will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Be responsible for the safe, efficient practices for decontamination, instrument assembly, wrapping and sterilization of all reprocessed instruments, equipment distribution and case care management.
• Perform case pull functions.
• Determine appropriate case carts to be built for specialty procedures.
• Dispatch case carts to ensure they are available for surgical/clinical procedures.
• Perform recordkeeping functions, such as processing, sterilization, quality assurance and more.
• Order and stock supplies.
• Maintain adequate levels and inventory of supplies.
