About The Position

The position involves inspecting customer vehicles at the time of receipt to identify any damage, missing parts, and mechanical problems. This includes checking the interior, exterior, odometer reading, trunk area, engine compartment, and noting any damage or repairs to the frame, paint, or other components. The role requires documenting the vehicle condition by completing a Vehicle Condition Report (VCR), taking digital pictures, and entering data into the computer in a timely manner to prepare for in-lane and online sales. Effective communication with management and other staff members is essential to facilitate a seamless auction experience and resolve any issues or discrepancies. Additionally, the position requires ensuring compliance with auction procedures, policies, and safety guidelines, and taking necessary actions to maintain a secure working environment. Other related duties may include locating and moving vehicles, starting and/or jump-starting vehicles, and other tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • 1-2 years' experience in the car auction industry or related role.
  • Demonstrated organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with buyers, sellers, and other staff members.
  • Attention to detail and ability to accurately verify and record vehicle information.
  • Familiarity with auction procedures, terminology, and documentation.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Must be able to work in auction lot setting, including moving for most of the day.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned including but not limited to locating and moving vehicles, starting and/or jump-starting vehicles.
