About The Position

The position involves filling prescriptions, routine orders for medications, and prepackaged pharmaceuticals while performing other related duties. The role requires assisting pharmacists, operating a cash register, delivering medications, and managing orders from suppliers. Additionally, the technician will enter and retrieve data from computer files, assist with I.V. preparation, train other employees, and participate in performance evaluations for junior staff. The position also includes shared responsibility for the daily delivery of patient medications to a Script Center in Mt. Gretna, PA, specifically for staff working at the Good Samaritan Pharmacy location.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 2 years of Pharmacy experience.
  • Certified Pharmacy Technician upon hire.
  • Completion of Pharmacy Technician Program upon hire.

Responsibilities

  • Assists pharmacists as directed including filling orders and preparing labels.
  • Assists patients by taking prescriptions and necessary information.
  • Operates cash register.
  • Delivers medications as needed.
  • Submits and receives orders from suppliers.
  • Enters and/or retrieves data from established computer files using knowledge of various computer software applications.
  • Assists with I.V. preparation and delivery.
  • Trains other employees in day-to-day procedures.
  • Participates in the performance evaluation process for Technician I and Driver.
  • Logs all drugs delivered to pharmacy.
