Certified Central Sterile Supply Technician
About The Position
The Central Sterile Supply Technician at Dayton Children's - Main Campus is responsible for the cleaning, assembly, sterilization, and distribution of instruments and instrument sets, as well as the assembly and distribution of case carts for surgery. This role involves equipment cleaning, reprocessing and distribution, maintaining accurate records of sterilization and biological tests, and delivering case carts to the staging room in surgery. The technician must comply with the hospital's infection prevention and control program and will collaborate primarily with the Surgery department and other nursing units. Requirements
- HSD/GED is required
- CRCST (Certified Registered Central Sterile Technician) or CSPDT (Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician) is required
Nice To Haves
- Healthcare experience is preferred
Responsibilities
- Cleaning, assembly, sterilization, and distribution of instruments and instrument sets
- Assembly and distribution of case carts for surgery
- Equipment cleaning, reprocessing and distribution
- Maintaining accurate records of sterilization and biological tests
- Assembly of case carts for surgery cases as requested on the pick tickets
- Delivery of carts to the staging room in surgery
- Complying with an effective hospital wide program for the prevention, and control of infection
- Collaborate interdepartmentally primarily with Surgery; but, also with the other nursing units
