About The Position

The Certified Caregiver / Med Tech plays a crucial role in providing high-quality, compassionate care to residents in an assisted living setting. This position is responsible for assisting residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), administering medications in accordance with state regulations, and ensuring a safe and supportive living environment. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, patient, and committed to enhancing the well-being of seniors. This position is cross-trained between Assisted Living and Memory Support.

Requirements

  • Certified Caregiver Certificate (Required – Arizona Department of Health Services approved).
  • Current CPR and First Aid Certification.
  • Fingerprint Clearance Card (or ability to obtain one).
  • Two Current Negative TB test or one current negative TB blood panel.
  • Food Handlers Card
  • Previous experience in assisted living, memory care, or a healthcare setting is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of senior care needs, including dementia and Alzheimer’s care.
  • Compassionate and patient approach to caregiving.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow care plans.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist residents with ADLs, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support.
  • Monitor residents’ health status and report any changes to the appropriate medical personnel.
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to residents, fostering a comfortable and engaging environment.
  • Administer medications accurately according to physician orders and state regulations.
  • Document medication administration in residents’ charts and electronic health records (EHR).
  • Maintain compliance with Arizona state laws regarding medication administration and storage.
  • Follow infection control protocols, including proper hand hygiene and PPE usage.
  • Ensure resident safety by assisting with fall prevention strategies and responding to emergencies.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of care services provided.
  • Communicate effectively with nurses, healthcare providers, and family members regarding residents' needs and concerns.
  • Support other caregivers and staff in maintaining a clean, organized, and welcoming environment.
  • Participate in ongoing training and education to stay current with best practices in senior care.
