Requirements
- HighSchoolDiplomaor GED
- Validdriver'slicenseandacceptabledrivingrecord(Required)todriveacompany
- InspectorsworkingfortheFloridaDepartmentofTransportation(FDOT)arerequiredtobeState-licensed professional engineers or certified bridge inspectors who have completed the National Highway Institute course in bridge inspection and meet FDOT's experience requirements.
- Minimumtwoyears'bridgeinspection experience
- Abilitytodescribethecurrentoverallconditionandconditiontrendsfor bridges
- SkilledinidentifyingtherecentNationalBridgeInspectionStandards(NBIS) revisions
- AbilitytoaccuratelycodeNationalBridgeInventory(NBI) items
- Abilitytoidentifyanddocumentinspectionobservationsusingstandard methods
- Knowledgeofevaluatingdefectsbasedonthe 2008AASHTOManualforBridge Evaluation
