Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Proof of highest level of education completed but not less than high school education or equivalent.
• Certification in Medical Billing from AMBA, AAHAM, HFMA, or equivalent agency within one year of hire.
• Ability to type with acceptable speed and accuracy.
• Ability to operate a computer, 10-key calculator, electronic typewriter and other office equipment.
• Ability to perform repetitive motions, such as, substantial movements of the wrists, hands and/or fingers required.
• Ability to sit for a sustained period of time.
• Ability to effectively communicate in oral and written form.
• An understanding of computer systems, process design and data management.
• Must have a well-groomed, professional appearance.
• Must have the mental and physical ability to perform, with or without reasonable accommodation, the essential functions of the job.
• Ability to lift, carry, pull, & push 50 pounds.
• Language proficiency in English, with excellent written and verbal fluency.

Nice To Haves

• Three (3) years experience as a Medical Biller.
• Previous Meditech experience or other related electronic records systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient billing functions for electronic transmissions, paper claim submission and all related billing functions for assigned financial classes.
