About The Position

The Alyssa Burnett Adult Life Center (ABC) is a lifelong learning and community space for adults (18+) with intellectual and developmental disabilities. ABC is dedicated to providing high-quality enrichment, life-skills training, recreation, and social connection through a wide range of in-person, community-based, and virtual programs. Our structured classes, specialized Life Skills services, and inclusive social opportunities empower participants to build independence, strengthen communication and interpersonal skills, and engage meaningfully in their community. The Certified Behavior Technician (CBT) will play a key role in supporting participants’ behavioral needs by implementing behavior support strategies, teaching classes, and/or providing ABA services in alignment with ABC’s mission and values. Provides behavior intervention and skill development curricula to individuals and families/caregivers of individuals with developmental, intellectual, emotional, and behavioral challenges within a behavior-analytic program. Interventions and curricula may be provided in individual or small group settings under the supervision of a Qualified Healthcare Professional. (Includes, but is not limited to, Behavioral Analyst (I and/or II), Psychologist, Clinical Supervisor, and/or Clinical Director.) Collect data on programs and skills, provide oral and written updates on patient progress and assist in discharge planning activities. Collaborate with program leadership on special projects as appropriate. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, special education, psychology, communication disorders, or related field or equivalent education and/or experience.
  • 1 year of experience providing direct treatment services to children and families/caregivers.
  • WA State Certified Behavior Technician Credential (CBT).
  • Licensed Behavior Analyst (LBA) and/or Licensed Assistant Behavior Analyst (LABA) will be accepted in lieu of CBT.
  • Safety Care Cert (internal training) required within 3 months of hire and annually thereafter.

  • Preferred candidates will have experience working with diverse populations.
  • Preferred candidates will have experience navigating multiple hospital systems.
  • Preferred candidates will be credentialed as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) through the Behavior Analysis Certification Board (BACB).
  • Preferred candidates will have 1 year experience working with neurodiverse individuals.
