GDC IT Solutions is currently seeking an Azure Certified Cloud Engineering Resource to work in a hybrid capacity, with three days on-site each week in Washington, DC. As an Azure Cloud Engineer, you will be responsible for architecting, designing, deploying, and managing Azure Gov IaaS, SaaS, and PaaS services while leading migration and modernization efforts in a secure cloud environment.

  • Architect, design, deploy, and manage Azure Gov IaaS, SaaS, and PaaS solutions.
  • Implement and maintain Azure Gov Cloud tenants, including VMware workload migrations from on-prem to cloud.
  • Provide technical leadership and guide teams on high-complexity cloud engineering projects.
  • Develop and implement cloud strategies, including cost management and tagging taxonomy for resources.
  • Design and support hybrid cloud architectures in cloud and virtualized computing environments.
  • Lead design and implementation of secure infrastructure, networking, and routing solutions within Azure Gov.
  • Build, upgrade, and decommission systems and services in both Windows and Linux environments.
  • Create and maintain documentation for diverse technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Liaise with third-party vendors and support providers to ensure timely resolution of issues.
  • Evangelize architectural vision and ensure alignment across engineering and delivery teams.
  • Utilize DevOps practices including Infrastructure as Code (IaC), CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing.
  • Monitor and optimize cloud services using tools like Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Application Insights.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Information Technology or Computer Science, or equivalent work experience (10+ years).
  • Microsoft Azure Certification in a specialized area (Required).
  • At least 3 years of experience designing and maintaining public or Gov cloud solutions, with a focus on Microsoft Azure (Gov preferred).
  • Expertise in core Microsoft technologies: Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, Identity and Access Management, and SQL.
  • Strong experience in applications migration from on-prem VMware to Azure Gov Cloud.
  • Expert-level knowledge of Azure CLI, PowerShell, ARM templates, Azure Networking, Virtual Networks, and Site-to-Site VPNs.
  • Experience managing both Windows and Linux servers and services.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Azure DevOps, Azure Security Center, and Azure AD (including B2C and SSO).
  • Proficiency with cloud monitoring and logging tools such as Azure Log Analytics and Application Insights.
  • Experience implementing Infrastructure-as-Code with tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or Azure CloudFormation.
  • Scripting experience in PowerShell, Python, Bash, or similar (PySpark preferred).
  • Knowledge of RESTful APIs, web services, XML, and JSON.
  • Knowledge of AWS network technologies.
  • Familiarity with cloud security services and security event management.
  • Experience with relational databases, especially Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
