PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION Under general supervision, inspects, diagnoses, and performs scheduled and non-scheduled maintenance and repairs to all vehicles and specialized equipment. Primary Duties PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES Takes the necessary training to qualify for Certified Auto Mechanic 1/C. Knowledge and ability to operate and maintain/repair various equipment including aerial devices, derricks, cranes, bulldozers, and various other machinery. Prepare and maintain various records on vehicle and equipment maintenance as required. Responsible for completing administrative functions, as required. Responsible for administration of environmental compliance. Performs other related or less skilled work as required or directed. Job Scope JOB SCOPE Eligible upon demonstration of aptitude and fitness after at least two (2) years for promotion to Certified Auto Mechanic 1/C.

Requirements

  • At least two (2) years' experience in automotive mechanical repair and equipment maintenance or other training or experience equally acceptable to the Company and must be able to demonstrate abilities to the Company's satisfaction.
  • High School or Vocational School education or equivalent.
  • Must have or be qualified to obtain promptly the required vehicle operator's license.
  • Must possess basic computer skill including use of internet and e-mail.
  • Must pass qualification test prior to Company awarding job.
  • Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in the English language.
  • Obtain and maintain ASE certification in the areas listed below: Master Medium/Heavy Vehicle Technician series T1 through T8: T1 Gasoline Engine T2 Diesel Engine T3 Drive Train T4 Brakes T5 Suspension and Steering T6 Electrical/Electronic System T7 Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) T8 Preventative Maintenance Inspection
  • Possess knowledge of automotive mechanics, to include mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems and functions.
  • Possess working knowledge of, and the ability to read, analyze and interpret schematics to repair hydraulic, electrical and other technical diagnostic data (i.e., scan machines/scanners).
  • Ability to provide on the job knowledge sharing as required.
  • Ability and willingness to work shift and schedules as required.
