Job Summary To provide direct patient care and patient education for fitting, measuring and dispensing of custom fabricated, prefabricated, off-the-shelf orthotic devices and other DME equipment and supplies. Requirements

• Education - Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training.
• Experience - No experience required.
• Required Certifications/Registrations/Licenses NATABOC Athletic Trainer Certification
• SC Athletic Trainer License/Certification (Required for team members working in South Carolina.)
• CPR Certification
• Requires a high level of physical activity and endurance as well as emotional stability.
• Constant movement and frequent heavy lifting are required.

Nice To Haves

• Master's degree in Athletic Training or related field of study preferred.
• One (1) year of DME/bracing and/or Athletic Training experience preferred.
• Electronic Medical Records experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides fitting, measuring, and dispensing of custom fabricated, prefabricated, and off-the-shelf orthotic devices and soft goods including upper and lower body, spine, and ambulatory aids.
• Provides patient/caregiver education for usage, maintenance, and care of the orthoses.
• Ensures timely collection of physician prescriptions, patient demographics, insurance information, and medical records for billing purposes.
• Assists in scheduling patient appointments for initial fittings and follow-up visits in the Equipped for Life office.
• Assists in stocking and maintenance of appropriate inventories of Durable Medical Equipment (DME) and orthoses.
• Acts as liaison between clinical staff and billing staff to ensure proper documentation for insurance to determine medical necessity.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
