About The Position

Seeking Athletic Trainer! PRN (work as needed), 3:00p-9:00pm, 7 days a week as needed. Occasional holidays. Southern Indiana/Louisville, Kentucky area Baptist Health Floyd, Physical Therapy The Certified Athletic Trainer will provide athletic training services and act as a Physician Extender to Orthopedic patients in a clinical setting upon direction from a physician, and in accordance with state athletic training practice act. Maintain appropriate general treatment orders to be reviewed annually and approved by the physician. Act as liaison between family physicians and specialists, athletes and their parents as needed. Act as a liaison between patient, medical assistant, physician or physician office staff. Maintain accurate records of injuries, treatments, and referrals in the injury tracking and referral electronic health record program. Assist in promotional events for the sports medicine program as needed. Cover outside events such as tournaments, races, etc. as needed. The Certified Athletic Trainer will also assist in the clinical setting with the implementation of specific therapy interventions under the direct supervision of a licensed provider and act as a physician extender. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited Athletic Training program
  • Athletic Trainer licensure in state of practice
  • Athletic Trainer Certification issued by the Athletic Board of Certification (BOC)
  • BLS for Healthcare Provider from AHA, ARC, or AHSI

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s Degree from an accredited Athletic Training program preferred

Responsibilities
