About The Position

MUSC Health Certified Athletic Trainer I works in a primary school, secondary school, collegiate or semi-professional or professional setting, with cross-coverage as needed at our affiliate organizations and/or community sporting events. The Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) reports to the assigned operational leader. The primary responsibilities will be to evaluate, plan, direct, document, and administer programs of athletic training & rehabilitation. Documents athletic training encounters completely and in a timely manner (day of or within 24 hours) in the electronic records system. Works closely with other disciplines and specialties within the health system to ensure highly coordinated care. Communicates professionally & effectively with physicians, other clinical staff and leadership. As a MUSC Health brand ambassador, develops trust with the coaching staff, Athletic Directors, student-athletes and parents through effective communication and coordinated high-quality care. Works closely with the Sports Medicine Coordinator (ATC) to coordinate the athlete's schedule, treatment programs, and recommends solutions for the athlete's healthcare problems. Conducts athlete intake assessments and maintains medical records for all athletes in our electronic medical record. Attends annual conferences and MUSC Health staff meetings. Performs clerical tasks such as assisting with budgets, restocking supplies and maintaining inventory. Other duties as assigned.
