About The Position

Position Summary: The Athletic trainer evaluates, manages and treats injuries by administration of modalities, modifies and advances exercise programs and instructs in home exercise programs. The ATC will also assist in the organization and administration of training programs and the education and counseling of patients/athletes. Essential Functions include but are not limited to: Knowledge of the principles, methods, practices, techniques, equipment and procedures used in physical therapy/Athletic Training. Assist athletes with prevention of athletic injuries Ability to recognize and evaluate athletic injuries Ability to manager, treat and disposition athletic injuries Ability to provide rehabilitation for athletic injuries Organization and administration of the athletic training programs Ability to educate and counsel athletes and coaches in relation to injuries and injury prevention Knowledge of equipment and the ability to adjust equipment to suite patient’s needs. Ability to maintain effective working relationships with staff and excellent communication skills in guiding patients to assume responsibility for their treatment and development. Ability to prioritize work. Knowledge of computers. Ability to cover sports games. This includes having a flexible schedule, ability to travel, coverage on weekends, early mornings, and late nights Provides pre-practice and game taping and bracing when needed Referral of athletes to physicians for post injury care when appropriate Promotes internal and external customer satisfaction. Builds and promotes a culture of service excellence and continuous improvement. Attendance: works as scheduled and is compliant with Attendance and Tardiness Policy. Performs all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • New Hampshire ATC license (NATA)
  • BOC
  • CPR/AED/First Aide
  • Bachelors or Master’s degree from an accredited professional athletic training education program
