About The Position

Certified Assistant Electrical Testing Technician (NETA Level 2). Performs limited testing and service work while generally requiring direct supervision by a NETA Level 3 or Level 4 certified technician. Demonstrates sufficient knowledge to assure personal safety and to execute defined test procedures on de-energized equipment.

Requirements

  • NETA Level 2 certification (or ability to obtain/maintain per company requirement).
  • Typically 2+ years of related field experience (or equivalent technical education per NETA guidance).
  • Working knowledge of LOTO, arc flash/shock hazards, and hazardous energy control procedures.
  • Ability to read one-lines, schematics, wiring diagrams, and follow written test procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine acceptance and maintenance tests on de-energized equipment per written procedures and standards (e.g., switchgear, breakers, cables, transformers).
  • Execute LOTO and safety grounding activities per procedure; verify absence of voltage as authorized.
  • Operate common test equipment (insulation resistance, micro-ohm, turns ratio as applicable) under supervision; verify test setup and configuration.
  • Document test results, collect nameplate/settings data, and maintain clear records for reports and turnover packages.
  • Identify and communicate test exceptions, abnormal results, and equipment conditions to the lead technician.
  • Maintain test equipment, leads, and PPE; confirm calibration and readiness before mobilization.
  • Support troubleshooting under direction; assist with corrective action verification/re-testing after repairs.
