About The Position

Certified Anesthesiologist Assistant (CAA) – The Surgical Hospital at Southwoods Southwoods Health is currently seeking a dedicated Full-Time or Part-Time Certified Anesthesiologist Assistant to join our team at The Surgical Hospital at Southwoods in Boardman, Ohio. Under the direction of an Anesthesiologist, the CAA will assist in administering anesthesia and monitoring patients across various surgical and radiological procedures. Requirements

• Certification: Current certification as a Certified Anesthesiologist Assistant (CAA).
• Licensure: Must hold or be eligible for a license to practice in the State of Ohio.
• Certifications: Active AHA BLS and ACLS certifications are required.
• Skills: Strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to a collaborative team environment.

Nice To Haves

• AHA PALS certification is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Pre-operative Evaluation: Interview and examine patients, assess medical data, and assist in selecting the appropriate anesthetic plan.
• Anesthesia Administration: Safely administer anesthetics in accordance with delineated clinical privileges and safety protocols.
• Intraoperative Monitoring: Monitor, interpret, and evaluate patient data throughout the procedure; take immediate action to protect life functions and vital organ stability across all patient age groups.
• Clinical Procedures: Perform essential non-surgical procedures, including IV insertion, intubation, airway management, and the maintenance of hemodynamic and electrolyte balance.
• Post-operative Care: Monitor and evaluate patients during the recovery phase to ensure a safe transition.
• Equipment & Pharmacy: Prepare medications and maintain anesthesia equipment to ensure it remains in peak operating condition; maintain strict accounting of all controlled substances.
• Compliance: Adhere to all hospital policies and regulatory standards to ensure the highest level of patient safety.
