The Anesthesia Technician is responsible for the coordination and provision of the appropriate support functions for anesthesiologists in all clinical practice settings throughout the hospital that utilize the services of an anesthesiologist. High exposure to hazardous risks and contaminants, including potential for exposure to infectious and communicable diseases, blood and body fluids, electrical equipment, radiology and fluoroscopy equipment, needle sticks, splashes, chemicals, cleaning solvents, hexacholorophate, betadine, sharps, and wet floors. Temperatures may vary in the procedure environment; prolonged standing on hard floors; exposed to a variety of interruptions; exposed to a variety of odors. May be required to work overtime, late shifts, weekends, and take call. Potential for bodily injury related to lifting, pushing, and pulling as well as incidents of workplace violence. Hazards will be minimized if standard safety procedures are followed.
