Job Highlights: The Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor, Crisis must be a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor in good standing with State Addictions Specialist Professional Practice Board. This Opportunity: The primary responsibility of the Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor, Crisis is to ensure that the people supported have access to counseling supports, psychoeducation, and crisis interventions when needed. The position plays a lead role in case management and coordination of care functions.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma (Required)
  • Certified Alcohol & Drug Counselor (CADC) - State Addictions Specialist Professional Practice Board
  • Experience working with adults, children, or adolescents with a mental health diagnosis and/or substance use disorder(s)

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the initial development, implementation, and ongoing revision of the plan, including providing ongoing assessment and reassessment of the individual based on their plan and goals.
  • Monitor and document the status of the person’s progress and the effectiveness of the strategies and interventions outlined in the plan.
  • Communicate the individual’s progress and the effectiveness of the strategies and interventions to the LCAS or LCAS-A and as outline in the plan.
  • Monitor, document, and communicate signs and symptoms of alcohol and other drug intoxication and withdrawal as well as the treatment and monitoring of those conditions to the treatment team.
  • Provide crisis interventions, when clinically necessary.
  • Provide psychoeducation as indicated in the plan, including groups.
  • Provide linkage to and coordination with services and supports.
  • Assist with the developments or relapse prevention and disease management strategies.
  • Engage with family members or individuals identified by the person as being important to their care and recovery in the withdrawal management process, with consent.
  • Provide linkage and referrals for recovery services and supports.
  • Maintain accurate service notes and documentation for all interventions provided.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of and comply with all agency policies and procedures.
  • Driving and travel may be required.
  • Follow service definitions guidelines for services being provided.
  • Complete all other relevant responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.
