About The Position

The position involves providing professional on-site substance abuse treatment and educational programs to clients, particularly those involved with the justice system or community members. The role focuses on conducting assessments, delivering individual and group therapy, and collaborating with treatment teams to ensure effective care and progress tracking for clients.

Requirements

• Certified in the State of Colorado as a Certified Addiction Specialist (CAS) or ability to obtain CAS within six months of employment.
• Bachelor's degree in social or behavioral sciences, education, or a related field.
• Two years of corrections-related experience is preferred.
• Must successfully pass a background check, including fingerprinting.
• Valid Colorado Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Complete substance abuse assessments and evaluations for clients involved with the Criminal Justice Services Department.
• Provide individual and group substance abuse treatment, addressing clients' substance abuse and criminal behavior.
• Develop comprehensive monthly progress reports for supervising case managers or referral agencies.
• Participate in treatment team meetings, updating records on client progress and making recommendations for future treatment needs.
• Ensure compliance with record maintenance requirements according to program and oversight agency guidelines.
• Coordinate, schedule, and provide educational and therapeutic services for program participants.
• Respond to clients in mental health crises and coordinate referrals to local mental health systems.
• Assist in developing program curriculums and conduct research on innovative practices in the industry.
• Help develop and implement policies and procedures related to treatment and educational programs.
• Act as a liaison between community treatment providers and Criminal Justice Services case managers and administrators.
