Program Description: Foster Care Program is located at main campus in McKeesport with work throughout Allegheny and neighboring counties where resource homes are located and children & young people served are from. Work in this program plays a crucial role in the lives of children and families, offering support and ensuring the best possible outcomes for all parties involved. Foster care programs work diligently to make sure that children in the foster care system receive the care, stability, and guidance they need to thrive. This work is more than just a job; it’s a calling to make a profound impact on the lives of vulnerable children and families. This pivotal role involves advocating for the well-being of children placed in resource homes, working closely with natural and resource families to create a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment. As a foster care worker, you will have the opportunity to guide and support children through challenging transitions, ensuring they receive the care, stability, and opportunities they need to thrive. Position Title and Overview: Certification Specialist Connect, develop, and maintain a strong, trusting relationship with the families served and children & young people placed to foster engagement and support growth. Research, schedule, coordinate and facilitate marketing events and resource parent recruitment activities. Guide resource parents through onboarding, certification, maintaining certification and recertification. Coordinate with resource families to host monthly support groups and P.O.D meetings at Auberle and in the community. Train resource parents on a variety of topics using our Therapeutic Foster Care model. Maintain detailed, accurate, and timely documentation to ensure safety and provide effective tracking and reporting. Extensive use of Microsoft Office, internal and County computer systems. Location and Travel Requirements: This position is primarily located in McKeesport. All positions are also expected to come to training, meetings, and other events at Main Campus in McKeesport, as scheduled. The travel required for this position is frequent.
