About The Position

Are you an engineer who enjoys pushing products to their limits? Emerson has a great opportunity to advance your career in our East Dundee, Illinois laboratory! As part of our product development and certification team, you will lead agency certifications and qualification testing for Appleton’s industry‑leading hazardous‑location electrical products. You’ll help define the testing, performance, and construction requirements that ensure every new Appleton product upholds our legacy of reliability, safety, and durability. Hybrid work schedule 4 days onsite, opportunity for1 day remote. In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be: Work directly with certification agencies such as UL, CSA, and Intertek to develop and coordinate test plans and sample requirements in order to acquire third-party certifications. Determine certification cost estimates and continuously work to streamline processes Collaborate with engineering to ensure product designs meet industry-standard requirements and prepare samples for certification testing. Maintain compliance by ensuring product certifications remain up to date Continuously monitor changes in standard requirements and how they impact our products. Recommend innovative approaches to improve product compliance. WHO YOU ARE: You analyze multiple and diverse sources of information to define problems accurately before moving to solutions. For This Role, You Will Need: A Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a closely related field of study. A minimum of 3 years of experience with product test work within an engineering development organization. Ability to lift 40-pound boxes and products being evaluated within the lab facility and in completion of testing activities. Willingness and ability to travel globally, up to 15% annually. Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future. Requirements
