About The Position

The Certified Surgical Technologist II (CST II) functions in a scrub role for operative and other invasive procedures including establishing and maintaining a sterile field, specimen handling, counts, medications/solutions, implants and instrument processing and may assist with circulating duties, as well as, participate in activities related to standards and quality improvement for the specialty and the department. In addition, serves as a preceptor and mentor, and as a specialty resource in three (3) specialties.

Requirements

  • active national Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification
  • a minimum of two (2) to five (5) years of experience as a Certified Surgical Technologist or successful completion of Operating Room CST internship program
  • proficiency in three (3) or more specialty services
  • proficiency in first and second scrub roles
  • BLS: Basic Life Support/CPR
  • CST: Certified Surg Technologist
