About The Position

As a member of the surgical team, provides technical assistance to the surgeon/physician during surgical intervention under the supervision of the RN within the Surgical Services department. When not directly assisting the physician in a procedure, may participate in the rendering of patient care under the direction of the Surgical Assistant Coordinator or Registered Nurse.

Requirements

• Formal working knowledge; equivalent to an Associate's degree (2 years college); requires knowledge of a specialized field.
• Passage of the certifying examination administered by the Liaison Council on Certification for the Surgical Technologist is preferred ans is required to be completed within 12 months.
• 1-3 years of experience.
• Surgical Technologist Certification
• Certificate of completion of an accredited course
• American Heart Association CPR Certification.
