About The Position

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) - Subacute position is a per diem role located at Corona Rehabilitation Hospital in Corona, CA. Reporting to the Director, the mental health worker/certified nurse assistant will assist in the promotion, maintenance, and restoration of health of patients assigned to his/her care. Responsibilities include assisting with ADLs, promoting wellness, health education, and clearly documenting patient activities. The CNA is responsible for adult and geriatric patients' personal hygiene, ADLs, vital signs, application of ice bags, K-Pads, assisting patients with TC and DB, and the use of incentive spirometers, while providing a safe and comfortable environment for their patients. They also provide emotional support to their patients and document their interventions.

Requirements

  • Must have current, valid Certified Nurses Assistant certification
  • Current BLS (CPR) certification required through the American Heart Association

Responsibilities

  • Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs)
  • Promote wellness and health education
  • Document patient activities clearly
  • Ensure personal hygiene for adult and geriatric patients
  • Monitor and record vital signs
  • Apply ice bags and K-Pads as needed
  • Assist patients with therapeutic exercises and deep breathing (TC and DB)
  • Facilitate the use of incentive spirometers
  • Provide emotional support to patients
  • Maintain a safe and comfortable environment for patients
