About The Position

The position involves providing individualized medical care to assigned patients under the supervision of a licensed healthcare provider. The role includes assisting in the delivery of healthcare services, maintaining positive relationships with patients and their families, and ensuring efficient patient flow during visits. The individual will communicate with patients via phone and document pertinent medical information in the company's data systems.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Completion of a formal medical assistant training program preferred.
  • Experience working with and maintaining confidential information.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association required.
  • Clinical knowledge and proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individualized medical care to assigned patients in person, electronically, and via telephone.
  • Assist in the delivery of healthcare services to patients of diverse backgrounds and ages.
  • Maintain positive relationships with patients and their families.
  • Work effectively with fellow employees to ensure efficient patient flow during visits.
  • Communicate via phone to ensure patient needs are met timely and accurately.
  • Access company data systems to document pertinent medical information.
  • Support the patient and provider throughout the patient visit.
  • Ensure the patient and provider are prepared for the visit.
  • Answer patient questions prior to leaving and prepare the room for the next appointment.
  • Complete appropriate documentation including patient registration if necessary.
  • Maintain required clinical knowledge, technical skills, training, and credentials through personal professional development.
  • Adapt behavior to the specific patient population, respecting privacy and communication styles.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
