Requirements

• Minimum of a high school education or GED
• Possess or be able to test/pass the exam for the First-Class Stationary Engineer License from the City of Buffalo
• 3 years (minimum) experience in the operation of a mid-size power plant
• 4 years (minimum) maintenance experience with basic knowledge of pipe fitting, electrical troubleshooting, and blueprint reading
• Working knowledge of PLCs, HVAC systems, pneumatic and hydraulic systems
• Experience in a manufacturing/production environment preferred

Nice To Haves

• NYS 7G Pesticide Application Certification
• EPA 608 Universal Refrigerant Certification
• Experience with industrial air compressors
• NFPA 70e Certification
• Experience with cooling towers and water treatment
• Experience with ammonia refrigeration systems

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, repair power plant equipment (includes, but not limited to: Boilers, Compressor, Cogeneration and HVAC)
• Identifying and troubleshooting electrical/mechanical issues
• Provide technical support/skills for equipment troubleshooting and controls/equipment modifications
• Perform both uptime and downtime preventative in adherence to the master PM schedule
• Perform corrective maintenance orders
• Participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives to increase platform performance
• Attend meeting and trainings as required
• Assist in training new employees
