Job Title Ceramic Process Engineer II Provides engineering support and technical guidance to material, product, and process development programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Materials Science or Ceramic Engineering preferred or related Engineering.
  • 2+ years relevant experience.
  • Or: Master's degree in Materials Science, or related Physical Science or Engineering
  • Experience with manufacturing processes and industrial equipment (e.g., spray drying, ball milling, forming) is preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of ceramic or materials processing, mathematics, statistics, engineering science.
  • Good interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Organized, detail-oriented person necessary.
  • Team player.
  • Must be able to work with a diverse variety of people from different cultures and backgrounds.
  • Required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment in designated areas.
  • Must be able to lift 50lb. with or without reasonable accommodations.

Responsibilities

  • With limited direction, conducts engineering experiments on new materials, products, processes and/or procedures.
  • Participate significantly in projects to optimize and improve existing materials, products, processes and/or procedures.
  • Contribute to project plan development, execution and reporting activities to support CoorsTek project management activities.
  • Devise basic research methods and documents results and procedures.
  • Operate process and test equipment with an understanding of functionality based on underlying engineering principles.
  • Exercise responsibility for specific pieces of processing and/or analytical equipment.
  • Work collaboratively with the Operations and Commercial sectors of the company.
  • Participate in the company's safety culture and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Undertake further training to improve skills.
