The Utility Plant Operator dedicated to the site shall be responsible for the following: Monitoring and overseeing plant operations. Assisting with startup, shutdown, and operations of facility equipment. Identifying problems that arise and resolving them. Ensuring that safety and environmental rules and programs are strictly adhered to. Monitor and control the operation of the CUP using both BMS and manual controls. Respond to all system malfunctions and abnormal conditions in accordance with established procedures, notifying supervision of the malfunction or condition if the situation requires. Respond to hot or cold complaints from building occupants through use of the BMS and/or local controls. Keep Owner and Seller supervision informed of the BMS and CUP operations when requested and provide prompt notification as necessary for any emergent issues discovered during rounds or inspections. Monitor and operate the computer-based lighting and control system. Monitor the data center environmental and power monitoring and control systems. Any abnormal conditions are to be reported to Owner expeditiously upon observation. Perform building rounds and inspections on CUP related building systems and BMS monitored equipment as required by supervision. Monitor water chemistry in boiler water, condensate condenser water and chilled water systems according to industry and manufacturing standards. Create work orders in the CMMS for any deficiencies found during rounds or investigating complaints

Requirements

  • Experience working with, documenting in, and communicating workflows through CMMS work order management systems (I.e. Corrigo, Maximo, HotSOS and other Amadeus platform applications, etc.)
  • Ability to work independently and autonomously with minimal direction when required.
  • Ability to clearly and professionally communicate and record plant equipment status or facilities event status to both internal and external personnel at any time while on-duty upon request.
  • Minimum Connecticut State Operators license or equivalent education to qualify for Connecticut licensing exam in the following disciplines within 1 month of employment (OE2, S1-S3, D1-D3, B1-B3)
  • Ability to pass both a Federal and State Criminal Background Check as required by law in order to obtain unescorted visitor access to work location.
  • Must be capable of working all shifts in order to support plant personnel & maintain 365/24/7 coverage delivery of Utility Plant Operations as needed upon request.
  • Current member in good standing with International Union of Operating Engineers Local 30.
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
