About The Position

Maintains the OR instrumentation, equipment and supplies in such a manner as to support the clinician in the administration of safe patient care. The Central Service Tech is responsible for identifying, decontaminating, inspecting, assembling and processing instruments, instrument sets and sterile supplies used in the operating room and throughout the medical center. The technician is responsible for decontaminating patient care equipment. Coordination and oversight of daily activities between the OR and Sterile Processing Department (SPD) to facilitate efficient case flow and high customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/ GED
  • Technical School (preferred)
  • Certification as Surgical Tech required
  • IASCHMM certification
  • Relevant experience preferred in OR and CS
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • OR-CSR Technician
  • Ability to communicate clearly in English, both orally and in writing
  • Ability to handle confidential information
  • Ability to perform diversified duties with in high degree of accuracy
  • Frequent standing/sitting
  • Occasionally lifts supplies / equipment
  • Ability to ambulate for 8 hours per day
  • Manual dexterity to manipulate/utilize equipment
  • Auditory acuity
  • Visual acuity
  • Subject to unpredictable situations
  • Occasional pressure due to multiple calls and inquiries

Nice To Haves

  • Technical School (preferred)
  • Relevant experience preferred in OR and CS
