As a Central Sterile Technician on the Surgical team you’ll support those that are in our facilities who are interfacing and providing care to our patients and community members to positively impact our mission of making communities healthier ®. More about our team Sovah Health is a regional health care delivery system with 2 hospital campuses – Danville and Martinsville. Each facility has a 24/7 Emergency Room, Outpatient Imaging Center, and over 20 primary and specialty care physician clinics. Our Danville location is also a teaching hospital that trains medical students and physician residents specializing in family and internal medicine.

Requirements

  • Applicants should have a High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Collects, decontaminates, stores, and distributes all reuseable supplies and patient care equipment in the hospital.
  • Provides inspection, decontamination, assembly, and sterilization of instruments and other patient care equipment in accordance with processing guidelines, AAMI, AORN, TJC, and OSHA requirements.
  • Processes and documents all sterile supplies and equipment daily using chemical, biological, and mechanical indcators to verify sterility in accordance with manufacturer instructions and hospital policy.
  • Monitors and performs antimicrobial and disinfection solutions testing according to manufacturer instructions.
