Day Shift - 7.5 Hours (United States of America) PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITES: Demonstrates knowledge of all sterilization methods. Demonstrates knowledge of sterile technique. Performs and prepares required daily tests for all sterilizers following written procedures. Takes requests from other departments and fills requests accurately and timely. Issues and returns equipment and timely. Issues and returns equipment and maintains patient charges. Receives soiled instruments, equipment, accessories from user departments and according to written procedures, separates, decontaminates and processes. Examines and tests all instruments according to procedures. Sorts, identifies, prepares and correctly packages instruments sets according to written protocol. Demonstrates knowledge and applied skills in the loading and unloading of sterilizers; cooling and handling of sterile goods and preparing transport of sterile supplies. Transports soiled instruments for reprocessing and returns sterile goods using transport carts approved for this service. Position may require flexibility in scheduling to meet departmental and patient care needs. Work schedules may include days, evenings, nights, weekends, holidays Demonstrates willingness to adapt to changing schedules and priorities while maintaining quality, safety, and productivity standards. Schedule assignments are subject to change in accordance with departmental needs Assures sterility by inspecting all packages for cleanliness and integrity. Understands the concept of event related sterility and practices such. Acquires a working knowledge of the OR schedule and the instruments needed to complete it. Adheres to infection control practices. Completes timely hospital wide and unit specific annual mandatories. Demonstrates compliance to hospital wide and unit specific performance improvement initiatives. Attends staff meetings or reviews minutes of all departmental meetings. REQUIREMENTS: High school diploma Central Sterile certification BLS Certification Previous experience in a comparable position Excellent communication skills, including reading, writing and verbal skills Heavy lifting (40lbs) and pushing of instrument carts. Requirements

  • High school diploma
  • Central Sterile certification
  • BLS Certification
  • Previous experience in a comparable position
  • Excellent communication skills, including reading, writing and verbal skills
