About The Position

The Central Sterile Technician PRN at HCA Florida South Shore Hospital plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of patients by meticulously cleaning, decontaminating, assembling, sterilizing, and storing all reusable surgical instruments. Requirements

• High School graduate or equivalent
• Knowledge of sterilization supplies, equipment, and instruments
• 1-2 years of previous experience strongly preferred
• Ability to read and communicate effectively in English
• Basic computer knowledge

Responsibilities

• Inspect, assemble, and test general and specialty instrumentation for proper functioning.
• Operate and maintain all sterilization equipment, such as autoclaves and ultrasonic washers.
• Prepare, assemble, and package all instruments for surgery and other hospital departments.
• Pull customized case cart sheets for all surgical procedures and prepare case carts.
• Inventory, maintain, and supply OR storage areas and specialty lockers.
• Audit trays for decontamination, washing, assembly, sterilization, and instrument count sheets.
• Create and maintain accurate records regarding inventories and sterilization processes.
