About The Position

The Impact You Can Make Team Impact The Central Service Technician II is a resource person that ensures the efficient and high level functioning of the CS department. CST II follows approved infection control practices, performs cleaning, decontamination, assembly, wrapping or containerization, quality assurance and distribution of reusable instrument trays and equipment throughout the hospital and outside health centers. Reports directly to the department manager. How You Will Fulfill Your Potential Responsibilities Responsible for organizing the workflow of the department. Precepts new employees. Identify and reassemble varied and complex OR instrument sets including outside loaner trays. Be the contact person for the OR specialty areas, ENT, Vascular, Ortho., Plastic, Neuro, General, hand washables. Collaborates with Perioperative Services in the event of a Positive Biological event. Present in the Operating Room at start of AM shift to facilitate case needs.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate
  • 2-3 years’ experience
  • Central Service certification through CBSPD or IAHCSMM recommended.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing with other hospital personnel and the public.
  • Ability to accurately follow written and verbal guidelines and instructions.
  • Ability to work effectively in a stressful situation.
  • Ability to tolerate distasteful sights, sounds and smells.
