About The Position

Trinity Health Of New England is looking for a Central Sterile Supply Tech to join our team of mission-driven healthcare innovators. Position Purpose Under moderate supervision of the Central Service Manager and Lead Technicians; Inspects, assembles and sterilizes instrument sets, supplies and tracks procedure trays, decontaminates soiled instruments and equipment, delivers and supplies items to surgical units and patient care units, picks cases for scheduled surgeries.

Requirements

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: One year of in Sterile processing or related field preferred.
  • Licensure: Central Service Certification required within TWO years of hire date. Failure to achieve certification within required period will result in termination.
  • Skills: Knowledge of sterilization standards and procedures, related medical terminology preferred. Computer knowledge and ability to use or learn to use department tracking system and its associated devices. Customer service and great interpersonal skills. Strong attention to detail.
  • Must be able to set and organize own work priorities, and adapt to them as they change frequently.
  • Must be able to work concurrently on a variety of tasks/projects in an environment that may be stressful and fast paced.
  • Must possess the ability to comply with Trinity Health policies and procedures.
  • Must be able to constantly lift and transport items weighing more than thirty pounds. Knowledge of proper lifting techniques required.
  • Must be able to walk for long periods of time, or stand for long periods of time.
  • Employee may be exposed to blood, tissue, or bodily fluids. Hazardous wastes materials and chemicals.
  • Must be able to work in warm and humid environments while wearing full PPE.
  • Position requires ability to constantly concentrate on fine detail with interruption and attend to tasks for more than 60 minutes at a time.

Responsibilities

  • Sterilizing surgical equipment.
  • Decontaminating soiled equipment.
  • Assembling instrument sets.
  • Delivering items to customers throughout the hospital.
  • Picks case carts.
  • Follows IFU for every process.
