About The Position

Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital is hiring a Central Sterile Service Technician I or II for a Full Time, second shift role in Charlottesville, VA! Hours are primarily from 230PM to 11PM Monday to Friday with call once per month. Sign on bonus up to $5,000 available for qualified candidates! The Central Sterile Services Technician I is responsible for the decontamination, assembly, sterilization, and preparation of surgical instruments, medical equipment, and supplies used in patient care. This position operates and maintains sterilization equipment according to established procedures and standards. Examines medical equipment for defects and reports faulty equipment to appropriate personnel. About the department: Performing an average of 7,000 cases each year, the Operating Room at SMJH has 8 OR suites and offers a variety of service lines including Complex GYN, Neurosurgery, Vascular/Thoracic and Orthopedic surgery. It is also the 2nd highest-performing OR in the Sentara system for Orthopedic total joint procedures.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate or equivalent required
  • BLS within 90 days of hire Required
  • Ability to transition between tasks efficiently required
  • Team work and communication skills required

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) preferred
  • 2 years of related experience preferred
  • EVS, Acute hospital experience or Hospital inventory experience, preferred.
