The Sterile Processing Technician is responsible for providing reprocessed supplies and equipment required by all departments that render patient care, ensuring all instruments are sterile to help maintain a safe environment for patients. This is a part-time position working 32 hours per week (4 - 8 hour shifts) Monday - Friday with no weekends or holidays.

Requirements

  • 1 year working with surgical instruments
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT)

  • Basic Life Support (BLS)

Responsibilities

  • Be knowledgeable and implement the decontamination, preparing and sterilization of surgical supplies and equipment.
  • Assembles case carts containing consumable supplies and instrumentation.
  • Cleans/decontaminates surgical instruments.
  • Identifies and assembles multiple types of surgical instruments and instrument sets.
  • Inspects instruments, replaces or send for repairs.
  • Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
