About The Position

The purpose of this position is to process supplies, instruments, and equipment through cleaning, decontamination, reassembly, packaging, sterilizing, storing and distribution to patient and requesting areas.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Ability to be trained on the job
• Positive service-oriented interpersonal and communication skills

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates knowledge of standards in the disinfection, cleaning, processing and sterilization of instruments and equipment provided through the department.
• Promotes clean and safe working environment through recommended transport and disposal of bio hazardous items.
• Utilizes effective communication skills with all departments to achieve transfer of information and supplies necessary for continuous patient care.
• Maintains delivery of patient care through identification and delivery of supplies.
• Demonstrates safe and effective operation of equipment through utilization of daily testing and verification process.
• Identifies flow of daily schedules to anticipate needs throughout the hospital.
• Demonstrates understanding of proper body mechanics utilized while working with equipment within the department and during transport throughout the hospital.
