Central Services Technician
About The Position
We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented PRN Central Services Technician to join our team. In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring our surgical and patient care environments are safe, clean, and fully prepared—supporting both patients and clinical staff. Position Summary Under the supervision of the department manager, the Central Services Technician is responsible for preparing surgical instruments, supplies, and procedure rooms while maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient environment. This role is essential to delivering high-quality patient care and supporting daily operations.
Requirements
- Prior acute care experience preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of a 120-hour CNA course with a current/valid certification
- Strong attention to detail and ability to stay organized in a fast-paced environment
- Team-oriented mindset with a commitment to excellent patient care
Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain surgical instruments, dressing trays, and equipment
- Clean and turn over operating/procedure rooms between cases
- Monitor, stock, and organize supplies to ensure readiness
- Assist with patient transport as needed
- Maintain equipment logs and ensure proper functioning of all equipment
- Follow all departmental policies, including safety, infection control, and HIPAA guidelines
- Support a positive team environment by collaborating with coworkers
- Demonstrate compassion, respect, and attention to patient comfort and privacy
- Remain available for occasional after-hours equipment needs
