This position is responsible for cleaning, disinfecting, receiving, distributing, and maintaining the inventory of patient care supplies and/or equipment, and maintaining specialty carts. This position is not responsible for providing care to patients. This position may be required to transport medications within their scope of practice and according to state law.

Nice To Haves

• Successful completion of the IAHCSMM Technician Training course, or the equivalency within first year of employment.
• Two (2) or more years of leadership experience.
• Two (2) or more years of experience as a central processing technician.

Responsibilities

• Prepares instruments and/or equipment to be cleaned and disinfected and distributes to departments, labs and clinics.
• Cleans and disinfects instruments and/or equipment and checks biologicals.
• Maintains inventory, orders and stocks supplies.
• Manages department requests for Central Service supplies and schedules and tracks instrument and/or equipment use.
• Documents patient charges for instruments and/or equipment use and cart supplies.
• Ensures that safety inspections, calibrations and preventive maintenance are completed prior to scheduled expiration dates.
• Assists in training new employees and central service technicians.
