About The Position

The Central Service Technician (CST) I is responsible for receiving, cleaning, decontaminating, assembling and disinfecting and/or sterilizing reusable medical and surgical devices for safe and effective patient care for various hospital and clinic departments. The CST I must process and distribute instruments, patient care equipment and other medical devices in an accurate, timely and dependable manner to enhance the quality of patient care. The CST I is knowledgeable and adheres to regulations, standards and recommended practices for the Sterile Processing department. Requirements

  • None
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) within three months of hire

Nice To Haves

  • Sterile Processing Dept. experience
  • Currently enrolled in/attending/completed an accredited HSPA (Healthcare Sterile Processing Association) or CBSPD (Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution) sterile processing technician program
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA)
