The Central Service Tech I position at Glendale Memorial Hospital involves supporting the performance improvement plan and ensuring compliance with various regulatory agencies. The role focuses on the processing and distribution of medical supplies and equipment, training new technicians, and maintaining inventory management. The technician is expected to demonstrate flexibility in prioritizing tasks and completing daily assignments efficiently.

  • Perform duties in support of the performance improvement plan and compliance with JCAHO and other regulatory agencies.
  • Clean and restock isolation carts, crash carts, GU cart, latex-free carts, and PAPR's.
  • Process and distribute supplies and equipment according to policies and procedures.
  • Train new technicians in the required tasks and responsibilities.
  • Relieve inventory from storage and enter issues into the Materials Management Inventory system (ESI).
  • Process all returns in a timely manner and report discrepancies.
  • Receive incoming supplies, check them in, and transport to the sterile storage area for proper handling.
  • Answer phone calls in a courteous manner and fill requests accurately and timely, including computer orders within specified time frames.
  • Minimum of 3 years Central Service experience in Sterile Processing or 1 year experience with registration as a CS Technician/Sterile Processing Technician.
  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
  • Job knowledge required to train other technicians.
