Role Purpose Central Service Equipment (CSE) serves the hospital and clinics with sterile supply equipment and supplies along with wound vacs and supplies, traction and trapeze, and other miscellaneous 24/7/365. CSE is a 24/7/365 department. The lead tech position provides training and guidance to current and newly hired staff, assists supervisor when necessary and ensures smooth day-to-day operations of the department. In addition, the lead tech picks up and delivers instruments and trays on nursing divisions and delivers to CSPD for processing. They also deliver Epic orders for equipment and supplies as requested by the patient care units.

  • Pick up and return instruments, trays and all other supplies to all nursing care areas across HSO.
  • Accurate tracking of equipment using an online system and manual log used to check equipment in and out. Places orders by phone or online to vendors for items not kept in stock and delivers the items to the appropriate unit.
  • Provides training and guidance to current and newly hired staff.
  • Ensures smooth day-to-day operations of the department. Uses critical thinking to troubleshoot issues that arise regarding equipment and supplies.
  • Assist and respond to the needs of the physicians and nurses in a timely a matter. Complete assigned tasks within department expectations including but not limited to: Completing floor rounds twice per shift. Remaining in department after rounds to respond immediately to electronic and phone orders for patient delivery. Refilling supply cabinets as needed.
