About The Position

Northern Nevada Medical Center is a 124-bed acute care hospital located on 23 hillside acres at 2375 E. Prater Way in Sparks, Nevada. This Central Scheduler opportunity is Full Time on our Central Scheduling and offers a convenient day shift schedule. Interviews incoming patient or representatives and enters information required for admission into computer database. Distributes appropriate information to ancillary departments. Participates in performance improvement and CQI activities.

Requirements

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Minimum of one (1) year experience as surgery scheduler.
• Basic computer knowledge.
• Ability to type minimum of 40 wpm.
• Knowledgeable in skills of patient/guest relations.

Responsibilities

• Supervises all scheduling staff and delegates appropriately ensuring assignments are fair and equal
• Assists with functions and responsibilities of the department as needed to achieve cooperation and teamwork through effective communication and positive public relations with patients, staff, and public.
• Helps coordinate numerous and ongoing special projects to include annual evaluations, certifications, and attendance maintenance.
