About The Position
The Central Route Planner at Clean Harbors plays a crucial role in optimizing service delivery plans by partnering with field teams to plan, reschedule, and enhance weekly routes. This position requires the use of specialized routing software and geography-based scheduling templates to devise effective route solutions in a complex and dynamic operational environment. The Central Route Planner is responsible for ensuring that health and safety remain the top priority by adhering to established policies and processes while acting safely at all times. In this role, the planner will be tasked with planning routes for multiple environmental services locations on a weekly basis. This involves understanding the intricacies of service delivery operations within a highly regulated industry and adapting routes to accommodate various service disruptions, such as employee time off, equipment issues, or emergency call-ins. The planner will maintain scheduling templates within an order management system and evaluate route efficiency in collaboration with local leadership to enhance routing metrics. Additionally, the Central Route Planner will participate in regional and district meetings as the routing expert for the area, completing daily, weekly, and monthly route planning tasks that optimize service delivery. A high-level understanding of all systems and routing software is essential, as is the ability to assist in maintaining service territories within a designated geographical area. The role may also involve performing other duties and tasks as needed to meet the business needs of Clean Harbors.
