About The Position

JOB GOAL: To assist in the efficient and effective operation of the Central Supply Center Warehouse and distribution system. To coordinate centralized receiving, inventory maintenance, and distribution functions in a manner that ensures accuracy, accountability, and timely service to schools and departments. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT : Twelve (12) month contract (245 days), Schedule 804 Range 10 Salary Range: $30,892 – 53,674. Plus Benefits Package. NOTE: Precise placement on the salary schedule will be determined based on experience. Reports to: Warehouse Supervisor MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education and Experience: High school diploma required; some college preferred. Minimum of five (5) years of successful experience in a retail, wholesale, warehouse, or supply distribution environment. Demonstrated experience in receiving, warehouse operations, stocking procedures, distribution, and inventory control methods required. Supervisory or leadership experience preferred. Technical and Computer Proficiency: Experience using desktop computers and warehouse inventory control systems (e.g., eFinance or comparable ERP systems). Ability to maintain accurate electronic records and documentation. Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, and to interact professionally with the public and District employees. Organizational Skills and Professional Commitment: Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy, flexibility to adapt to change, and evidence of a strong commitment to quality, integrated education. Additional Requirements: Valid driver’s license with good driving record Experience operating forklift and delivery truck (up to two tons) Physical ability to lift, stack, load, and perform warehouse-related physical duties. Additional technical skills, knowledge, and abilities may be recommended by immediate supervisor and approved by the Human Resources Director.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in supervising Central Supply Center personnel in the absence of the Warehouse Supervisor to ensure uninterrupted operations.
  • Receives, inspects, and verifies incoming supplies and materials to ensure accuracy in quality, quantity, and condition in accordance with purchase orders; maintains accurate system documentation.
  • Maintains warehouse inventory records within the district inventory system, including preparing requisitions to maintain appropriate stock levels and processing orders submitted by schools and departments.
  • Maintains purchase order and delivery files; monitors and expedites outstanding backorders and past-due shipments with vendors.
  • Ensures proper storage, shelving, and inventory rotation using first-in, first-out (FIFO) methods; promptly resolves discrepancies and documents damaged or unusable goods.
  • Coordinates returns, warranty shipments, and repair exchanges with vendors as necessary.
  • Assists with fixed asset tagging and collaborates with the Property Accounting Section and Information Services Department regarding technology equipment and asset accountability.
  • Serves as liaison between schools, departments, and vendors to resolve receiving and delivery issues.
  • Assists with physical inventory of warehouse stock and coordinates excess inventory with Property Distribution personnel.
  • Maintains warehouse safety, cleanliness, security, and compliance with proper warehousing procedures; operates district equipment and vehicles safely.
  • Supports loss prevention efforts and assists with mail distribution, excess property services, materials disposition, and training of assigned personnel.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned by the Supervisor or Director.
